Lisburn Golf Club
Debate surrounds the foundation of Lisburn Golf Club. A Club was inaugurated in the town in 1880 and affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland. However, it had a short life going out of existence in 1885/86. The Club under its present constitution was, in fact, founded in 1905. For the next 68 years it occupied a compact nine hole course at Longstone Street in the heart of Lisburn. The present Governor’s Road bisects what was the first fairway on that course. Indeed a few of the majestic lime trees which were such a feature of the course, and which hampered many a shot on the first and ninth holes, are in evidence to this day.

Fermoy Golf Club
Fermoy Golf Club
Fermoy Golf Club traces its origins to 1893, when golf was first played on the Aerodrome in Fermoy. The club relocated in 1972 to its present site on Corrin Hill, where a mature 18‑hole, par 70 heathland course designed by John Harris measures 5,831 metres. The course is laid out on elevated ground with wide views across the Blackwater Valley and sits just outside Fermoy town, roughly a 20‑minute drive from Cork city on the Cork–Dublin road. The club describes itself as catering to men, women, juniors and senior golfers, and welcomes visitors throughout the year. Facilities at the club include a bar and restaurant, and there is an indoor Trackman simulator that is available for public bookings. Fermoy stages organised events such as open competitions and a Wednesday Open Singles series; members also use systems such as BRS and a Master Scoreboard for bookings and results. The club has been recognised in various listings, including a place among Ireland’s “Top 100 courses” and a Destination Golf Travel Gold Award, and has been cited as one of Ireland’s “Top 10 Hidden Gems.” Online booking is provided for casual golf and open competitions.

Edmondstown Golf Club
"This is the place" These immortal words, reputed to be uttered by two members of the Maccabean Golfing Society, led to the purchase of an old dairy farm situated in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains. They were probably standing somewhere on the current 18th fairway which affords a magnificent view of Dublin City. The two gentlemen concerned were looking, on behalf of their society, for a site to form their own golf club for their members who, for the most part, were unable to gain membership of established clubs. The year was 1944 and Ireland was anything but a pluralist society. War was still raging in Europe and the outlook was grim. However the land was purchased and Edmondstown Golf Club was born. initially it was a 9 hole course but over the years extra holes were built and finally in 1959, after acquiring extra land, the club became an 18 hole course. As a club, it enjoys a broad spectrum of members from all walks of life - "Doctors, Tailors and Candle Stick Makers". It is a member friendly club playing an important role in providing golfing facilities for the local community, young and not so old. It has a choir and a bridge section. It has recently upgraded the clubhouse and built a state of the art professional shop complete with indoor golf club fitting room.
