Powerscourt Golf Club
The East Course was designed by the talented golfer and successful Walker cup captain Peter McEvoy who brilliantly follows the contours of this mature and historic landscape. It has hosted the 1998 Irish PGA which three time major winner Padraig Harrington won in a playoff. The East course also hosted the 2001 Irish Seniors Open. The West course brings David McLay Kidd’s (Designer of Bandon Dunes in Oregan) experience and detail for a challenging, rewarding and highly enjoyable golf course to life. The beautiful scenery and the greens from the West course can be heard talked about in the clubhouse all evening long from our visitors who want a second chance at it.

We are a friendly and competitive club as can be observed from the banter enjoyed by the members in the bar and restaurant after competing in one of the many popular weekly, or weekend competitions. Members can also enjoy bridge, snooker, indoor bowling, and music sessions to name but a few non-golfing activities that are available.

The layout comprises 18 holes at par 72 and measures 6,204 metres (6,785 yards). Balmoral Golf Club
On the 6th March 1914, a group of men led by Dr G Lyttle, met in the Lecture Hall of Malone Presbyterian Church on the corner of Balmoral Avenue and established Balmoral Golf Club. As Europe went into the turmoil of the Great War, a board of trustees acquired 75 acres on lease from Hannah and Teresa Hamill at an initial rental of £150 per annum. Subscriptions were struck at a guinea for gentlemen, half-a-guinea for ladies and ten guineas for life membership. This industrious committee set about raising funds for the development of the course by organising dances, whist drives, bridge but especially during the Great War years, income was raised from tillage.
