On a clear day it is possible to see Scotland, across County Down and beyond Belfast to the Mountains of Mourne. The Club prides itself on being a friendly, family orientated golf club. Many families have long associations with it and membership policy encourages this principle. Visitors are warmly welcomed and packages are tailored to meet the needs of each individual party, large or small.

The course itself measures 6173 yards in length, set in an area renowned for its natural beauty, surrounded by the Mourne Mountains on one side and Carlingford Lough on the other, and is ranked as one of the top Parkland Courses in Northern Ireland. Nestled on the western shores of Sheephaven Bay with its blue flag beaches and stunning scenery, Dunfanaghy Golf Club sits on the edge of the picturesque, vibrant village of Dunfanaghy in the shadow of Muckish Mountain. Golf has been played on the seaside links of Dunfanaghy for over 100 years. The course was laid out in 1906 by Mr Harry Vardon, six times winner of the British Open.
