Newcastle West Golf Club was founded in 1938 after eight local businessmen met in April of that year to form a club. The official opening took place on 14 September 1938 when the V. Rev. Canon Hannon drove off the first tee; the club’s first competition was held a week later on 21 September 1938 and was won by D. O’Dwyer. In its early years the club engaged a professional, D. Murray, to give lessons and to supervise course development. In 1992 the membership voted to relocate from a nine‑hole site and develop an 18‑hole course at Rathgonan, just outside the village of Ardagh. Play commenced on the new 18‑hole course in May 1994. The course site is in the parish of Coolcappa and was formerly part of the Cahermoyle Estate. Facilities on the club’s site include a clubhouse with bar and catering, a 10‑bay fully covered and floodlit driving range, an 18‑hole putting green, a chipping green and a pro shop. The pro shop is managed by club professional Ian Colleran, who provides coaching through the Ian Colleran Golf Academy. The club publishes visitor green fee information and runs society days, with society rates noted for Irish‑based groups.

The Ballykisteen Championship Golf course is a superb 18 hole, 72 par, Des Smyth designed championship golf course which was opened in 1993 and was formerly the famous Ballykisteen Stud. Nestled in the heart of the Golden Vale, the clever design and suitability to all handicaps makes this golf course an ideal venue for any golf outing. The golf course is set only minutes from Limerick Junction, County Tipperary in tree-sculptured surroundings against a backdrop of the Galtee Mountains. The golf course is constructed to the highest of standards distinguished by the superb quality of the putting surfaces.​ Smyth laid out each hole using the natural contours of the land where possible and incorporated an abundance of bunkers and water hazards which feature on 11 holes. Symth himself puts forward the 6th as one of the signature holes at Ballykisteen "probably the most difficult in the country; 230 yards from the back elevated tee to a green surrounded by water on three sides and out of bounds on the left, nothing but a perfect golf shot will do".

Limerick Golf Club
Limerick Golf Club was established in 1891 and is located at Ballyclough, a short drive from Limerick city and within easy reach of Adare Manor Resort and Shannon Airport. The venue offers an 18-hole championship parkland course noted for its mature trees and strategically placed bunkers; the layout shows the influence of Dr. Alister MacKenzie. The club has a long competitive history: it was the first Irish club to win the European Club Championship in 1980 and has hosted the J.P. McManus Invitational Pro‑Am on multiple occasions. The present clubhouse was opened in 2007 by Pádraig Harrington. Practice facilities include two USGA-standard chipping and putting greens beside the car park and 2nd green, an additional chipping green beside the 16th, a putting green between the car park and 1st tee, and a practice range located left of the 6th fairway. Visitor arrangements are handled through the club’s online booking system or via the office. The club’s website lists an international visitor green fee rate and participation in the Tiger’s Wood Challenge as part of that rate.
