Dunmore East Golf Club
Dunmore East Golf Club
Dunmore East Golf Club is a clifftop, nine-hole course laid out along the shores of Dunmore East village. The course measures 2,317 metres and plays to a par of 35; it can also be played twice using alternate tee boxes to present an 18-hole challenge at par 70. A 2020 redesign by reGOLF’s Irish team (led by Jeff Lynch and Paul O’Brien) introduced two new greens, one built as an infinity-style green and another positioned close to a cliff edge, and reshaped holes to emphasise risk-and-reward shot-making amid natural valleys and ocean inlets. The club is GUI-affiliated since 1991 and welcomes golfers of varying abilities with green fee timeslots available daily and a range of membership options. Competitive member competitions take place six days a week during the summer season. Practical services include hire of golf buggies, clubs and trolleys from reception, and a resident golf professional who provides one-to-one coaching and runs junior summer camps. The setting offers panoramic sea views and easy access to the village and nearby coastal amenities, making it a straightforward option for visiting players and local members alike.

Berehaven Golf Club
As I drove away from Berehaven, I couldn’t help feeling that if somebody threw a million dollars at this, largely unheralded gem of a course, it might become a serious rival to California´s Pebble Beach; it really does have that much potential.

Faithlegg Golf Club
Faithlegg Golf Club
Faithlegg Golf Club is an 18-hole championship parkland course set on the Faithlegg House estate beside the River Suir estuary, a few minutes from Waterford city. The course opened in May 1993 and was laid out by architect Paddy Merrigan. It plays over rolling terrain with many mature trees, five lakes that come into play on several holes, and a mix of doglegs, bunkers and undulating greens that are noted for their pace and contours. From the championship tees the course measures 6,674 yards and it also plays from shorter teeing grounds, including 6,284 yards from the whites. Faithlegg has hosted national-level events such as the Ladies Irish Open (2000–2001) and stages of the PGA EuroPro Tour (2007–2009). The clubhouse occupies the restored coach house at Faithlegg House with views across the course, and the Red Cedar Lounge provides bar and dining facilities. The golf resort sits within a larger hotel and leisure complex on the estate and supports practice areas; membership information on the site notes a short-game practice area, pitching green and putting green. For visitors the club runs competitions and group packages and provides on-site pro shop services.

Kanturk Golf Club
Kanturk Golf Club
Kanturk Golf Club sits in the rolling countryside of north Cork between Mallow and Killarney, with views across the Blackwater valley and toward the Boggeragh Mountains and Mount Hillary. The club offers a mature, 18-hole parkland course laid out to a Par 71 over 5,721 metres. Accuracy from the tee and precise iron play are rewarded: the greens are relatively small and described on the club site as fast, while bunkers and subtle doglegs add strategic interest. The course has developed over decades and presents a measured test for a wide range of abilities rather than relying on length alone. Visitors can expect a traditional clubhouse with bar and restaurant facilities and a friendly local atmosphere. Kanturk welcomes societies and runs open competitions; green fee information is published by the club. Practical visitor arrangements include hireable two‑person golf carts (with tops and windshields) and pull carts. The course’s compact routing and scenic setting make it suitable for players looking for a parkland layout with well-kept greens and straightforward visitor arrangements rather than a heavily commercialised resort experience.
