The renowned par 71 golf course at Edenmore continues to develop into one of the provinces true tests of golf. Now into its third decade the course supports Men’s, Ladies & Juvenile clubs and provides a warm welcome for our many valued members and the visitors who tread the challenging fairways each year. Our well stocked Pro-Shop offers the latest golfing attire and is open to the public 7 days per week. Our resident PGA Professional Andy Manson and his team welcome day guests, society groups and corporate golf days and are delighted to discuss packages to suit individual preferences which can include refreshments in the stunning clubhouse.

On the 6th March 1914, a group of men led by Dr G Lyttle, met in the Lecture Hall of Malone Presbyterian Church on the corner of Balmoral Avenue and established Balmoral Golf Club. As Europe went into the turmoil of the Great War, a board of trustees acquired 75 acres on lease from Hannah and Teresa Hamill at an initial rental of £150 per annum. Subscriptions were struck at a guinea for gentlemen, half-a-guinea for ladies and ten guineas for life membership. This industrious committee set about raising funds for the development of the course by organising dances, whist drives, bridge but especially during the Great War years, income was raised from tillage.

Complemented by the panoramic views of the Mourne Mountains, this 6,500 yard, 18-hole County Down parkland course, located less than 2 miles from Ballynahinch, is any golfer’s dream. Described by visitors as a “must play course”, we pride ourselves on offering an enjoyable, yet challenging course on some of the finest greens in the county. Our popular and affordable restaurant – Casa Bistro – and comfortable lounge area allow you to enjoy a day out with the family. The modern clubhouse, built in 2002, caters for private functions including birthdays, christenings and weddings, with various packages available to suit individual needs. Measuring 6,309 yards, Royal Belfast offers a rewarding challenge for golfers of all skill levels, set against one of the most picturesque backdrops in Ireland. The course emphasises precision over power, with strategically placed bunkers and subtly contoured, lightning-fast greens that demand both skill and strategy. Practice facilities include two dedicated putting greens and a short iron practice range. Royal Belfast is proud to have been recognised as the IGTOA Parkland Golf Course of the Year and has been named Best Parkland Golf Course in Ulster by the Golfer’s Guide to Ireland.
