Lahinch Golf Club
Lahinch Golf Club
Lahinch Golf Club sits beside the Atlantic in the small seaside village of Lahinch and has been part of Irish golf since the first game was played there on Good Friday, 15 April 1892. The club’s Old Course is often referred to as the St Andrews of Ireland and reflects a long links tradition; Old Tom Morris was commissioned in 1894 to work with the natural dunes and created signature holes such as the Klondyke (4th) and the Dell (5th). The club hosts a Performance Academy, described on the club website as a leading golf training facility, and maintains clubhouse amenities including locker rooms with day lockers and The South Bar & Restaurant offering daytime and evening dinner menus. Visitor play is welcomed between May and October, and the club requires visitors playing the Old Course to take at least one caddie in the group. Lahinch also figures in the modern event calendar, listed as proud host of the 2026 Walker Cup on the club site. The course’s heritage, coastal setting and the presence of an academy and clubhouse facilities are central to the visitor experience described by the club.

Ballinrobe Golf Club
The Championship Parkland Golf Course at Ballinrobe Golf Club is considered by some, including Padraig Harrington, to be one of the finest in Ireland. Cloonacastle Estate, which dates back to 1238, became the new home for Ballinrobe Golf Club during its centenary year in 1995. A mature 300 acre estate provides the setting for an ever evolving, continuously maturing, magnificent championship parkland golf course. A 250 year old Estate House and some of its original farm buildings, have been carefully and tastefully renovated to provide modern clubhouse facilities. In the words of Padraig Harrington – “This must be the finest championship course in the West of Ireland, The par threes, in particular, are a delight. My favourite hole is the fifth which has a marvellous green inset into the River Robe. The tenth hole is a hole which the professionals will love, with its island green needing a very precise choice of club.” Why not experience the challenge of this magnificent parkland course for yourself…..
