Situated less than two hours from Dublin Airport and just 50 mins from Ireland West airport it is very accessible on the main N4 route. As scenery goes it doesn’t get much better than this. Running parallel to the River Shannon – the longest river in Ireland – with breath-taking views of cruisers floating by, watching that all important putt on the par three 8th that just lures you in to a false sense of confidence. And if the water wasn’t enough, the green is protected by two guarding bunkers at the front. What club will you play on the 8th ?

Mountbellew Golf Club is a mature 18-hole parkland course that’s open to visitors seven days a week. Off the white tees it measures just 5,644 yards, but don’t be fooled – you’ll need to think your way around it. Position is everything here. Keep it in play and you’ll be rewarded with short irons into greens, but take on too much and the course will bite back. The layout keeps things interesting from start to finish. The front nine features a tough mix of par 3s and tight par 4s that can test even low handicappers, while the back nine opens up a little with scoring chances on the par 5s.
