Balmoral Golf Club
On the 6th March 1914, a group of men led by Dr G Lyttle, met in the Lecture Hall of Malone Presbyterian Church on the corner of Balmoral Avenue and established Balmoral Golf Club. As Europe went into the turmoil of the Great War, a board of trustees acquired 75 acres on lease from Hannah and Teresa Hamill at an initial rental of £150 per annum. Subscriptions were struck at a guinea for gentlemen, half-a-guinea for ladies and ten guineas for life membership. This industrious committee set about raising funds for the development of the course by organising dances, whist drives, bridge but especially during the Great War years, income was raised from tillage.

A beautiful Parkland course bordering on Lurgan Lake, just 2 miles from Lurgan junction of M1 motorway. Established in 1893, Lurgan has matured into a challenging parkland course. A well wooded course of medium difficulty with plenty of dog legs. It is well suited to long hitters but is still enjoyable for the average golfer. Many improvements have taken place to enhance the course and the clubhouse. Most recently the new Golf Academy has been appointed as a GUI Regional Development Centre which will further add to the undoubted attraction of Lurgan Golf Club. Welcome to Greenisland Golf Club, still located on its original site since 1894, this challenging nine hole members course welcomes all visitors to enjoy the mature course and sample the beautiful views from its elevated tees and greens on the side of Knockagh Hill. On a clear day it is possible to see Scotland, across County Down and beyond Belfast to the Mountains of Mourne. The Club prides itself on being a friendly, family orientated golf club. Many families have long associations with it and membership policy encourages this principle. Fintona Golf Club was founded in 1904 and is a fine parkland 9-hole course, very conveniently positioned at the edge of the village. Many of the holes have different tees the second time round which makes your round more interesting.
