Strokestown Golf club was formed in 1995 and affiliated to the GUI in the same year. In 2001 the club moved to its present location, which is one of the most scenic parkland club's in the West of Ireland. It is an 9-hole Parkland 5,256 metres with a Par 70 and a standard scratch of 69 for the 18-holes. The ladies course measures 4,764 metres Par 74.

Many of the holes have different tees the second time round which makes your round more interesting. Kilrush Golf Club
Kilrush Golf Club is a member-run parkland course on the west Clare coast, with roots that reach back to the 1930s. The club began as a seasonal nine-hole layout and, following land purchases and development through the late 20th century, now presents an 18-hole course laid out by Dr Arthur Spring in the 1990s. The present clubhouse was built in 2001, replacing the earlier farmhouse facility. Over decades members have planted and managed trees and course improvements, and the club retains an active junior programme and strong local involvement. Visitors will find competitive green fees (listed at €35) and the club welcomes society bookings; visitors who pay the green fee and play on Sundays receive free entry into the club’s open competitions. Kilrush sits on the Wild Atlantic Way in West Clare and is about 15 minutes from Doonbeg Golf Course, making it a practical stop on a regional golf itinerary. The club’s history includes periods of expansion from nine to 14 and then 18 holes, and a continuous community emphasis in running and maintaining the course. Established in 1905 New Ross Golf Club is a mature parkland golf course situated between the scenic Barrow and Nore valleys with the magnificent Brandon and Blackstairs mountains providing the backdrop. New Ross is one of the driest golf courses in South East Ireland, rarely closed due to bad weather and therefore can be enjoyed throughout the year. The Par 70/73 golf course provides a great test for all abilities, with tree lined fairways and superbly contoured greens complemented by a number of water hazards.
