Killarney Golf & Fishing Club occupies a lakeside setting next to Killarney National Park, with views across the Lakes of Lough Leane. The club operates two 18-hole championship courses, Killeen and Mahony’s Point, plus a 9-hole course called Lackabane. Over the years the venue has hosted major tournaments, including multiple Irish Opens and other international amateur and professional events. In 2024 the club received the IGTOA Parkland Course of the Year award. Visitors are welcome to play both championship courses subject to tee-time availability; the club advises booking early during the main season. Faithlegg Golf Club is an 18-hole championship parkland course set on the Faithlegg House estate beside the River Suir estuary, a few minutes from Waterford city. The course opened in May 1993 and was laid out by architect Paddy Merrigan. It plays over rolling terrain with many mature trees, five lakes that come into play on several holes, and a mix of doglegs, bunkers and undulating greens that are noted for their pace and contours. From the championship tees the course measures 6,674 yards and it also plays from shorter teeing grounds, including 6,284 yards from the whites. Faithlegg has hosted national-level events such as the Ladies Irish Open (2000–2001) and stages of the PGA EuroPro Tour (2007–2009). The clubhouse occupies the restored coach house at Faithlegg House with views across the course, and the Red Cedar Lounge provides bar and dining facilities. The golf resort sits within a larger hotel and leisure complex on the estate and supports practice areas; membership information on the site notes a short-game practice area, pitching green and putting green. For visitors the club runs competitions and group packages and provides on-site pro shop services.

Woodbrook Golf Club
Woodbrook Golf Club was established in 1921, by Sir Stanley Cochrane as his private club. Woodbrook was first affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1926. Sir Stanley had previously indulged his enthusiasm for cricket at Woodbrook, a fact that is still reflected in the pavilion-style clubhouse and the cricket bell, which tolled the start and finish of play and now hangs in the bar. In olden days the Dublin-Bray train stopped at the club and in the early days of tournament golf, spectators alighted on the course. Although a flat course, the wind plays a most significant role. When it blows from the North, nine holes are affected, including three out of the last four. When it’s from the South, the tenth plus the par three eleventh, and the par five – 12th, 14th and 16th, all become very difficult long holes. A crosswind from the East affects almost every hole on the course and calls for shot making of the highest calibre. With its configuration of five par threes and five par fives, Woodbrook’s layout is unusual but, in the opinion of those who have played there, it is a championship course in every meaning of the word.
