East Clare Golf Club is a championship parkland course set across roughly 150 acres of rolling East Clare countryside, close to Lough Derg. The 18-hole layout, completed after additional land purchases in 1995–96, was designed by Dr. Arthur Spring and measures about 6,031 metres. The routing includes several on-course water features and offers notable panoramic views, particularly from the 6th and 12th greens. The course is known for its large, multi-tiered greens; the venue hosted the PGA Seniors Tour West of Ireland Championship in August 1998. The club’s development began as a 9-hole course in the early 1990s, gained official status from the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1992, and later opened a clubhouse in July 2001.
